Mediation
Our attorneys often serve as third-party mediators to settle divorces and other family law cases outside the courtroom. Family mediations give involved parties the chance to avoid costly courtroom battles by working toward a settlement in a safe, neutral environment. There, they can address important issues such as child custody, support and visitation, alimony, division of property and other matters. Our attorneys bring decades of family law experience to these discussions, helping the parties better understand each others’ challenges and perspectives in order to reach a mutually agreed-upon settlement.
Oftentimes, a judge orders parties to try mediation. Other times, parties choose a mediation effort on their own. Either way, our mediators don’t decide who is right or wrong, and have no power to force a settlement. Ultimately, the decision to settle always remains with the parties involved, but we can help you get there.
